Pueblo East Drama Club Presents:
"She Kills Monsters"
Friday, November 11 | 7 PM Saturday, November 12 | 1 PM
This year's fall play, "She Kills Monsters", will be performed on November 11th (at 7 pm) and November 12th (at 1 pm).
Because this is the last show that we will perform in this auditorium before we move to the new building, we wanted to try something different. This show will be free of charge to everyone who attends. With that in mind, our program relies on ticket sales to buy the rights, scripts, and resources we need to put on each show. So we are encouraging folks to consider donating what they can to keep our program soaring. You can donate to Drama Club whatever amount you're comfortable with. We will accept donations at the door on our show days. You may also donate online here.
Play Information: A dramatic comedy about the world of fantasy role-playing games, SHE KILLS MONSTERS tells the story of Agnes Evans as she comes to terms with the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When she finds Tilly's Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she embarks on an adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly's refuge. Along the way, she learns details about her sister from the game that she has never known.
Content Warning for this show: "She Kills Monsters" seeks to tell a story that gives voice to people who may not always have their story told: LGBTQ+ teenagers. It was written with a manner of frankness and honesty that some other productions may lack. Ultimately, the goal is to have the story ring true, resonate with teens and young adults, and inspire thoughtfulness and conversation while providing entertainment and joy. We sought to balance the content and tone of the show to fall within the limits of what reasonably can be performed by a public high school theater program, while still preserving the core messages and tone of the show. This is geared towards high school-aged students and young adults, which means it may contain some language and content not suitable for younger audiences. We advise our audience to use their discretion when considering the attendance of younger children.
