Today's Kindness #126: July 22, 2022
Love & Cookies. They're The Same Thing.
I had the recent opportunity to interview Anna Tibbitts, the partnerships manager at Crumbl Cookies. Crumbl Cookies was founded in 2017 and is an all-cookie dessert shop that has a weekly rotation of 5 different cookies and their famous Milk Chocolate Chip. You can view the story of how they started here. In this interview, I asked about kindness and Crumbl's hashtag #CrumblTogether.
*Today's Kindness is not sponsored by Crumbl Cookies. We just really love cookies.
"What's a recent random act of kindness you have seen or read?"
"I saw a video this morning of a woman in Arizona who came across a turtle in the road, and she pulled over and got out of her car and went and got the turtle and moved it to the other side of the road so that it wouldn't get hit by a car. And I just thought that was kind and sweet."
"How does kindness impacts a whole community?"
"I think that when someone is kind, it has a ripple effect, right. If they're kind, it encourages other people to see it and hear about it to be a kinder version of themselves because the more kind we can be in a community, especially in moments that may be typically don't call for kindness, whether it's a tragedy, poverty, stressful situations, the more that we can amplify the kind of stressful moments of time, the more that it spreads throughout a group or a community or an organization. I think that we often underestimate the power of kindness, and we often think that negative and dark emotions or negative and dark actions bear more weight than kindness. But I truly think that kindness is more powerful than almost anything and that it is just as contagious as any other emotion you could feel."
"I wanted to talk about #CrumblTogether. How has #CrumblTogether brought people together?"
"What we saw was that Crumbl was already part of so many people's lives in all these big moments. Whether it was marriage proposals, gender reveals, birthday parties, or even funerals. There are all of these moments that we kept seeing people post about. And we wanted Crumbl to be there when people were together, whatever that was. Whether it was a moment of happiness or a moment of sadness. We just wanted when people were together, we wanted Crumbl to be there to experience even more. So we saw tons of people across all socials that whenever Crumbl was there at a party, at a gathering, they would put #CrumblTogether. And we saw all these people coming together. It's love and celebrating or mourning or just being there for one another and being able to use Crumbl as a vehicle to further that connection and further that kindness. "
"Everyone has a favorite Crumbl Cookie! What is yours?"
"My favorite Crumble Cookie is our key lime pie. It is phenomenal. I'm obsessed with it. It's so good."
Thank you to Anna from Crumbl Cookies for answering the questions that I have asked her today!

"My grannies would both bake things like shortbreads and cookies. I think whenever I smell those kinds of things it really takes me back to my childhood."
