Kindness Advent Calendar: December 25, 2022 (Christmas Day)
🎁🎄Merry Christmas!🎄🎁
Welcome to Day 25 of your Kindness Advent Calendar! Merry Christmas! Throughout December, we will be providing you with your daily act of kindness through our Kindness Advent Calendar! Come and celebrate the holiday season as we are kind all December long.
With all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, sometimes you may find it difficult to remember that this holiday is about sharing peace and joy with others. A movement called Random Acts of Christmas Kindness addresses that issue, spreading the spirit of giving by helping others during the Christmas season.
Also known as RACKing (get it? Random Acts of Christmas Kindness), this movement is growing as people enjoy the thrill of knowing they're making a difference to others in ways great and small. Some people try to perform 25 daily acts of Christmas kindness in December while others let the spirit move them more randomly.
If you're fortunate enough to be RACKed, then you can pay it forward and show someone else a Random Act of Kindness. Imagine this idea spreading through the world until everyone has shared and received a Random Act of Kindness. Then we could begin all over again!
Whether it's putting extra coins in a parking meter before you drive away, leaving a dollar on a toy store shelf, or shoveling a neighbor's sidewalk, small acts of kindness can make a world of difference to someone. Here are some sources for inspiration for Random Acts of Christmas Kindness, as well as ways you can let someone know anonymously that they've been RACKed.
Need ideas for acts you can perform to brighten the lives of others?
- Go to dinner and buy someone's meal and/or leave an extra-large tip for your server.
- Serve Christmas dinner at a local shelter.
- Gift someone who's required to work (pharmacist, gas station attendant, ambulance driver, etc).
- Leave a gift card for someone's out-of-this-world Christmas lights display.
- Visit a local hospital and bring joy to those who are spending Christmas away from home...dress up as Santa, deliver treats, put on a clown nose, share gifts, jokes...anything to put a smile on their face.
- Sing carols.
- Given Mother Nature cooperates in your area, brush snow off or scrape off cars in parking lots.
- Invite someone who would normally be alone on Christmas to join you.
- Leave a box of toys under the tree for Santa to bring to those who might be without.
"Christmas now surrounds us, Happiness is everywhere. Our hands are busy with many tasks as carols fill the air."
~ Shirley Sallay
